Joyanne is a cherished family friend. Our moms are longtime besties and we made regular trips to Barbados to visit them. As a kid, I always looked up to Joyanne (and her sister Charmaine). She was so cool! Years later that sentiment hasn’t changed!

It was a four day pop up celebrating all things hair. It explored topics like beauty, wellness and culture as it relates to hair. The theme of the pop up was Be Your Beautiful. It also coincided with Toronto Caribbean Carnival and as a result had lots of island flavour. I had the honour of contributing to a panel and hosting the VIP launch event.

Like many of you I’ve been on a hair journey. I’ve had relaxed hair for a long time, dealt with the usual breakage.
