Just back from two restful nights up at our favourite long weekend spot Viamede Resort. Victor and I shared a cottage with two of our favorite people Karlyn and Jason Merceica. In Canada the Victoria Day Long weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer…and cottage season. Thought I’d share with you what I typically bring to the cottage and show you what we got up to this weekend.
Before you ask…I am NOT playing mas this year! I know, I know I say that every year. But I’m serious this year. If you’re new to my blog, know that I’m very much a Caribbean woman. I’m also what you would call a “carnival baby” having participated in costume at carnival festivals since I was 2 years old. My dad Walter Elliott is also a veteran ‘mas man.’ Even though I’m not playing mas in Toronto this year…I can still admire the costumes. Continue Reading…
Hi hi spent a few days in Ottawa this week. Was fortunate to book a role in a movie filming there. Such a great experience and crew. Had loads of fun but shooting hours can sometimes be crazy depending on where you’re filming. So I returned a bit tired and I noticed it on my skin.
Today was cloudy in Toronto, perfect for you know what…self care Sunday!! This was just a mini one though. I captured the process, here’s what I did.
If you live in the GTA, I’m hoping you can join me for a special lunch on Saturday May 19th at 5941 Leslie St. My friend Kerra Denel (who I’ve mentioned before on my blog) is organizing the event. She’s one of the best event managers I know and like myself she’s proud of her Caribbean heritage. I’m one of 6 amazing speakers of Caribbean descent. Continue Reading…
Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. Sharing my OOTD from Sunday. Wore this look to brunch at Oretta and then to my little sister Maya’s confirmation. ( Check my instastories) I seem to be picking lots of stripes this season. There so many amazing modern stripe moments in stores right now. Vertical and horizontal. Loving this nautical stripe flare dress from Ann Taylor. Continue Reading…
I’ve got an oily T-zone and I never remember to touch up my makeup. Unfortunately that combo often means I’m constantly oily. At the moment I’m obsessed Kat Von D’s Lock it foundation and the pressed powder. Here’s why I’m loving it…
Spring finally showed up in Toronto this weekend. Where you been though!? A light jacket was still needed, but it was glorious! The spring wardrobes for out in full effect. I felt light and fluttery in this look. Giving you a little inspo for your upcoming brunches, shopping dates and other meet ups.
I just finished packing my on set bag for a 1 day shoot for a new movie. It’s a pretty big one…my lips are sealed. I always bring more things than I need to, but I just always like to be prepared (former girl guide here.) Here are some of the items that I always take to set. Continue Reading…
Part of being a creator means getting help to make your vision come to life. So I often have to attend meetings to pitch my ideas. Sometimes it can get done via email, but there are days in person chats are necessary. Was excited to wear this new textured ruffled sheath dress from Ann Taylor.

Like many of you in the Greater Toronto Area, I spent much of my weekend lounging around and sleeping during this awful Ice Storm. I was grateful (and fortunate) for the opportunity to get some rest. I feel like I’ve been having more and more conversations with people about sleep and the lack of sleep that we’re having. And most of those people are creatives like me! Continue Reading…
