One year has zipped by so quickly. I really wanted to do more to mark this milestone but I’ve been a bit blocked creatively. Also I’m in a mad rush to get new episodes of my talk show out by the end of the year! That’s why you haven’t seen many new videos from me. But I’m working through it. Continue Reading…
I first met Jodianne Beckford at Toronto’s African Fashion Week in the summer of 2015. She was shooting the event, I was there with Karlyn Percil. Jodianne came up to me, introduced herself and gave me her card. I could tell she was a bit nervous, but she still followed through. Fast forward a year later, when I decided to start a blog and needed a photographer…I reached out to Jodianne and we’ve been working together ever since! Jo (she goes by Jo) has expanded her brand and now also hosts a podcast called The E. Project. I’m this week’s featured entrepreneur! Continue Reading…
If you watch my youtube videos you would’ve seen my big brother Jabari aka Elicser. He’s one of Toronto’s foremost artists and I’m not just saying that because he’s my brother. You can see my brother’s work around the world in cities like Cape Town, Buenos Aires, San Francisco and of course Toronto. Continue Reading…
Buffer Festival is an annual Youtube film festival in Toronto. I can recall interviewing Founder/creator Corey Vidal in the early days of Buffer Festival and I’m so impressed at how much its grown in such a short time. My transition from traditional media to digital hasn’t been easy, but it’s events like Buffer Festival that help open my mind to the possibilities of this new world. Last year when I went to this event I vowed I’d be involved in some capacity next time. This year I proudly moderated a panel discussion at the festival’s industry day.
Had a “pinch me” moment last night, another cool opportunity that I got to take advantage of, since saying yes to living the life I want. I had dinner last night at Cobalt Social; a pop-up restaurant inside a normally unsuspecting (I’m being kind) supermarket at Kensington Market. And guess who helped launch the spot? Chef Gordon Ramsay! Continue Reading…
AcroYoga, Slacklining & More At The Think Outside Summit
September 24, 2017When I left my news job there are many things that I realized I was missing out on. One of those things was spending quality time outside. Sure I reported outside but it wasn’t quite the same as actually being present and fully aware of my surroundings. Home, work, home, work…that was my life. Now that I work for myself I’ve committed to doing all the things I didn’t make time for or was too tired to do. Continue Reading…
This weekend in Toronto we’re having arguably the best weekend of the summer. Nothing but sun and temps in the high twenties…both days! Summer is certainly going out with a bang. So on this last weekend (and best) of the summer, there was no better place to be than a rooftop. PLAYLIST provided the perfect opportunity. Continue Reading…
