The party is officially done for another year. This was my first full Toronto carnival in a while. I put together pictures of my favourite moments of Caribana 2017.
Had a random idea to get together with some bloggers, youtubers etc of Caribbean descent. I feel like it’s always good to connect with like minded individuals from time to time and do a check in. It’s difficult for people who are not in this world to understand what creators like me deal with. I was craving convos with people who can relate. So I emailed a few dope peeps who are doing the damn thing in the digital world and said “Let’s meet up!” Continue Reading…
Toronto Caribbean Carnival aka Caribana is right around the corner. Soca parties and various events are already in full swing. Having grown up with a dad who designs carnival costumes, I’m a carnival baby in every sense of the word. It’s a big part of who I am. This the first year in a long time that I have the freedom to actually enjoy a full Toronto carnival. But with that being said…what the hell am I gonna wear?!! I put together some options. I shared with you on my social media that I was featured in a digital photo series called “HerStory In Black” profiling Black women from Ontario. I was so honoured to be included in this major project produced by Emily Mills of How She Hustles. On Monday the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) hosted an event celebrating all 150 of us. And I almost didn’t go…because I was all up in my feelings. Continue Reading…
I can be really hard to deal with sometimes. I can be super bossy, rude and impatient.

As a former weather broadcaster I know a lot about Canadian geography. I randomly know where Upsala and Melita are! I also got quite familiar with popular attractions or activities in various Canadian cities. Not because I’d been there…but because I’m a good study. Continue Reading…
