Just back from two restful nights up at our favourite long weekend spot Viamede Resort. Victor and I shared a cottage with two of our favorite people Karlyn and Jason Merceica. In Canada the Victoria Day Long weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer…and cottage season. Thought I’d share with you what I typically bring to the cottage and show you what we got up to this weekend.
Spring finally showed up in Toronto this weekend. Where you been though!? A light jacket was still needed, but it was glorious! The spring wardrobes for out in full effect. I felt light and fluttery in this look. Giving you a little inspo for your upcoming brunches, shopping dates and other meet ups.

If you watch my youtube videos you would’ve seen my big brother Jabari aka Elicser. He’s one of Toronto’s foremost artists and I’m not just saying that because he’s my brother. I had dinner last night at Cobalt Social; a pop-up restaurant inside a normally unsuspecting (I’m being kind) supermarket at Kensington Market. And guess who helped launch the spot? Chef Gordon Ramsay! Continue Reading…

September 24, 2017When I left my news job there are many things that I realized I was missing out on. One of those things was spending quality time outside. Sure I reported outside but it wasn’t quite the same as actually being present and fully aware of my surroundings. Home, work, home, work…that was my life. Now that I work for myself I’ve committed to doing all the things I didn’t make time for or was too tired to do. Continue Reading…
The party is officially done for another year. This was my first full Toronto carnival in a while. I put together pictures of my favourite moments of Caribana 2017.
I’ve seen Toronto Caribbean Carnival through many lenses. I’ve played mas all my life, I’ve made costumes with my dad, I’ve covered the parade many times as a reporter. It’s one of my favourite topics. As a Caribbean lifestyle blogger, I’d be remiss if I didn’t dedicate a few posts to Toronto carnival or Caribana as it is more commonly known. A did a short video where I answer a few questions you’ve been asking. These are things that work for ME. There are many more things to discuss.
On this episode of NNEKA, design expert Nike Onile helps us add some Caribbean flavour to our homes this summer! Continue Reading…
