I moderated a panel discussion for the second Saturday in a row. This time is was for the Ryerson Women In Leadership Conference. I’m a proud Ryerson University alumna and I also served as a board member for the Ryerson Alumni Association. I’m always happy to support Ryerson. I’m also excited to be doing more of these types of events. Thought I’d share with you how I handle moderating a panel. Continue Reading…

IMDB is one of my favorite apps! I watch an excessive amount of TV shows (just binged Seven Seconds on Netflix…majorrrrrr.) I’m always like “where is this guy from again?!” Then I frantically check them up on IMDB. I also have an obsession with identifying British actors playing Americans. IMDB helps me out there as well. And guess what y’all I have an IMDB page too!! I recently actually ‘claimed’ it so I have a picture now etc. Continue Reading…
Make Lemonade is a Toronto Workspace for Women. I’ve been hibernating recently and it’s always around this time when I start to come out of my den. So in anticipation of that, I started looking into co-working spaces in my city. I stumbled upon Make Lemonade and thought it looked so refreshing. I made a mental note to look into it further. Literally two days later the editor in chief of the Make Lemonade blog, Chanele McFarlane, reached out to me for a blog feature! Continue Reading…

One year has zipped by so quickly. I really wanted to do more to mark this milestone but I’ve been a bit blocked creatively. I first met Jodianne Beckford at Toronto’s African Fashion Week in the summer of 2015. She was shooting the event, I was there with Karlyn Percil. Jodianne came up to me, introduced herself and gave me her card. I could tell she was a bit nervous, but she still followed through. Fast forward a year later, when I decided to start a blog and needed a photographer…I reached out to Jodianne and we’ve been working together ever since! Jo (she goes by Jo) has expanded her brand and now also hosts a podcast called The E. Project. I’m this week’s featured entrepreneur! Continue Reading…
Buffer Festival is an annual Youtube film festival in Toronto. I can recall interviewing Founder/creator Corey Vidal in the early days of Buffer Festival and I’m so impressed at how much its grown in such a short time. My transition from traditional media to digital hasn’t been easy, but it’s events like Buffer Festival that help open my mind to the possibilities of this new world. Last year when I went to this event I vowed I’d be involved in some capacity next time. This year I proudly moderated a panel discussion at the festival’s industry day.
