To be honest, I never really realized the full scale of this issue until Chantal Carter Taylor brought it to my attention. The fact that women of colour have had to make do with beige lingerie. She said “Beige is not nude. It’s not my nude. Is it your nude?”
Fed up by the lack of available fashions, founder, stylist Chantal Carter Taylor, would actually hand dye bras and panties to match her skin tone! She decided to finally do something about it so that women of colour would be able to buy everyday products that match our skin tone. She started Love and Nudes: wire-free bras & panties designed to match your skin tone, be invisible under your clothing, and be so comfortable you could sleep in them.
I spoke to Chantal about Love and Nudes. Yes the products…but also the whole movement behind it. You can watch the whole interview below. Thanks!
