I can be really hard to deal with sometimes. I can be super bossy, rude and impatient.
I sometimes give poor instructions and then get upset when people don’t understand what I’m talking about. And when I say people…I’m mostly talking about my dear husband Victor.
I have been on a pretty public journey of self discovery. It’s been beautiful and messy and scary and liberating.
But I probably would not have even started the journey without the love and support of my husband.
Recently he’s been taking on new roles, that of photographer, videoographer, tech support and chief bag holder to name a very few. (He’s probably praying that none of his boys read this) He’s been thrust into a world quite foreign to his own but he does it because he loves me. And I need to remember and acknowledge that more.
I could go on and on about my husband, but the reality is, our situation is not unique. Behind the lens of every seemingly perfect instagram picture, is often a committed partner. Otherwise known as an “Instahubby.”
So with that in mind, my friend/neighbour/scorpio sister/fellow taco lover Cory Lee and I decided to host a small casual brunch at the amazing Bar Reyna to celebrate our husbands and other “Instapartners.” We realize there are instahubbies in every field, but we decided to focus on other bloggers/youtubers like us.
Cory, Ish, Victor and myself we were joined by these fabulous women: Sydney Hoffman, Amanda Phuong, Kimberly Moffit and their dedicated partners, Shawn, Will and Nathan. Big thank you to Tonic Blooms for the beautiful Jade plants that adorned our tables(guests got to take them home as well). We’re also so grateful to Saje Wellness for providing gifts to our guests. The care kits are ideal for Val Day! Cory and I hope to do more of these culinary gatherings as a way to say thank you to important people in our lives. We’re calling it #thegivebackTO.
