When I was 15 years old, I won St.Vincent & The Grenadines’ national public speaking competition. The topic I chose was “the need for an International airport in SVG.” 2 weeks ago I stood on the tarmac of the Argyle International Airport, as it prepares to open. Talk about a full circle moment!
The island’s first International airport opens on February 14th. Regardless of where your loyalties lie, few can argue that this is truly a historic event. I was honoured to have an opportunity to tour the facility and take pictures on the tarmac.

Beautiful pictures
I was one of those who wondered if the day the Argyle International Airport opened would ever come, but now that it approaches and I see all the pictures and videos of the facility, I feel a sense of pride. It’s such an upgrade over ET Joshua that it stands out as a symbol of progress. There are many elements that need to come together to make it a success but it’s a start and hopefully, as a nation, we can harness all our talents and skills to tie those different elements together. Kudos, to you, in particular, Nneka for playing a part in sharing this aspect of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with your readers and followers.
