Join Me At The Toronto Carnival Run

June 8, 2017
Toronto Carnival Run

One of my yearly fitness goals is to do at least one 10k a year. I was bummed that I missed the Sporting Life 10k this year due to a previous commitment. Then I found out that there is a Toronto Carnival Run  on July 22nd and I was like yesssss I gotta do this! What’s more is that proceeds from registration go to the Simunye foundation, a not for profit organization, aiming to develop a center focused on fitness, wellness, arts and culture for the Afro-Caribbean Community. I jumped at the opportunity to be a run ambassador.  I reached out to my friends and family who are runners and encouraged them to join me.

The result is #TeamFete!!

We had our first group run today. We’re doing the 10k but there is also a 5k and a 1k kids run. #TeamFete partnered with Nike Toronto so they made sure we looked the part and they’re also making sure we receive the appropriate training. The Nike Toronto community already has established local runs so we were able to just join one.  If you ever want to come out to a run, here’s how to find one in your area.

Here are some pics from our first run. Be sure to follow me on social media for training updates. You can also search #teamfete to see what my other team members are posting. Come join us!  You can register for the Toronto Carnival Run HERE.

I think Fitness is extremely important. I did a lot of walking and years of bike riding. I’m just getting a little break now. I use to get huge spasms because I did so much exercise. I guess everything in moderation. Sounds like a great event. I commend you for this and encouraging there’s NNeka. I watched the video in the link listed.
